Pfizer Scientist, Mammalian Culture Process Development in Andover, Massachusetts
The Cell Culture Process Development (CPD) group of Pfizer in Andover, MA is seeking a highly motivated and energetic scientist/engineer interested in bench-scale bioreactor process development.
The CPD Scientist will work with a larger team responsible for the development, scale-up/scale-down and characterization of mammalian and/or microbial culture processes, and associated regulatory filing activities. The successful candidate will join an unusual team largely dedicated to making breakthroughs in bioreactor process intensification and applying those innovations to late-stage clinical programs with high material requirements, or other technical challenges. In some cases the scientist/engineer will work with pilot, clinical, or commercial-scale GMP facilities to demonstrate scalability of the novel processes.

Basic Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with 7+ years' industrial experience OR Master's degree with 3-5 years' industrial experience in the area of Chemical/Biochemical engineering, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field
Strong mammalian cell culture expertise required, knowledge pertaining to other heterologous expression systems desirable
An in-depth knowledge of bioreactor operations and in particular perfusion cell culture highly desirable
Strong trouble-shooting skills and extreme attention to detail required
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Preferred Job Requirements:
Experience working with small-scale bioreactors (1-3 Liters) within a biopharmaceutical environment.
Scale-up & Scale-down experience while working within a GMP facility
