A senior role focused on entrepreneurial engagement with external academic partners to identify collaborative drug discovery projects opportunities that support the Neuroscience strategy and complement internal portfolio assets of the Pfizer Internal Medicine Research Unit (IMRU). This role will actively engage with academic institutions, non-profit foundations, government agencies and public private partnerships to identify compelling opportunities for collaboration on early and late stage drug discovery programs. Through outreach and networking in the scientific community, it is anticipated that this role will create a portfolio of collaborative projects that complement the Internal Medicine Research Unit's internal neuroscience pipeline.

• Focus on identifying, building and establishing external partnerships that advance the neuroscience therapeutic strategy.

• Help to build a portfolio of projects for continuous augmentation of the Pfizer Neuroscience pipeline. Deliver new targets and projects to complement internal portfolio substrate.

• Advance Neuroscience drug discovery capabilities through identification and partnering of novel, scientific technologies that enable prosecution of high value therapeutic targets.

• Partner with the IMRU, Business Development (BD) and External R&;D Innovation (ERDI) functions and other partner lines to maximize return on external investments.

• Serve as a networker who forges strong relationships and alliances at all levels (internally &; externally) to attract ideas and catalyze new ways of thinking about scientific problems.

• Help establish effective collaborations with academic institutions

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of biology with an emphasis in Neuroscience.

• PhD or equivalent preferred with 2 - 5 years postdoctoral experience in relevant scientific discipline

• Experience in business development and/or academic technology transfer

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Proven verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Technical Skills Requirement

• Understanding of neuroscience (with a particular focus on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's) disease biology.

• Track record of successfully working effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

• Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and complex, strategic conversations.

• Entrepreneurial thinking coupled with strong organization skills.

• Demonstrated success in negotiating the environment of a highly matrix-based organization
