Pfizer Calibration Technician/MRO Planner & Scheduler in Franklin, Ohio

ROLE SUMMARY

  • Calibrates control and regulating instrumentation and devices at levels that support uninterrupted manufacturing operations and current Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Working with area owners, will review calibration and maintenance procedures to assure accuracy and pertinence.

  • Optimizes the use of company assets in the acquisition of assigned goods and services; locates sources of supply for Maintenance, Repair, and Operating expense materials and contracted services.

  • Responsible for the overall condition, organization, and readiness of the MRO and Calibration Lab area.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs calibrations, assuring traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (N.I.S.T.) on instruments and weighing equipment and controls located throughout the facility.

  • Maintains calibration records in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Assist in investigating any out of tolerance conditions.

  • Responsible for all aspects of sourcing and distribution of maintenance repair supply parts and services while taking into account cost-effective solutions.

  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels in support of plant level goals and objectives.

  • Plan and schedule work according to facility needs for maintenance repair, PM, and calibration activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school/GED with no less than 4 years manufacturing plant maintenance/shop experience -or- an AS/AA or BS/BA degree (or equivalent) in a technical field may also be considered in lieu of experience. Must have knowledge of general trades: i.e. instrumentation, construction, electrical, and machine shop. Direct Instrumentation experience, no less than 3 years.

  • Preferred: 3-5 years of experience with certificate program or an AS or Technical degree.

  • Must be flexible in regard to seamlessly navigating between the two roles.

  • Five years experience in CMMS systems preferred.

  • Skill in continuous improvement and cost reduction.

  • Negotiating skills and professional ethics in dealing with vendors and customers.

  • Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication Computer Skills: Microsoft applications, Computerized Maintenance Management System skills (EAMS), SAP, Ariba

Mathematical Skills : Demonstrated ability to manage and plan budgets.

Reasoning Ability: Demonstrated problem solving and business decision making

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop on a regular basis plus climb and crawl as needed to perform the duties of the job.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds several times per day.

  • General duties require regular attention normally; actual calibration of equipment requires constant attention, and some calibration procedures require constant and concentrated mental and visual attention.

  • Visual requirements include clear vision (focusing, close work, distance, peripheral, depth perception) and appropriate color vision to identify and distinguish colors.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Typical work hours are 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday- Friday. Will be provided with a company cell phone and must be able to accept phone calls after hours and weekends to deal with site issues that occur. Site is currently a one-shift operation, 5 days/week.
