Pfizer Director, US Biosimilars Reimbursement Services Operations in Lake Forest H1, Illinois

The Director, Reimbursement Services Operations role is part of Pfizer Essential Health (PEH) business unit (formerly Pfizer's Global Established Pharmaceutical (GEP) organization) in the US Biosimilars group. The primary purpose of this role, based in Lake Forest, Illinois or New York, NY is to provide strategic oversight of the daily operations and program interfaces for a comprehensive reimbursement and patient support program for the Pfizer US biosimilar portfolio of products. The position will also be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to plan and implement program enhancements and new market access support programs for future biosimilar product launches, and creating/obtaining approval for various communication materials and customer tools related to these programs. Primary responsibilities include applying skills and knowledge to managing and making decisions regarding strategy, tactical procedures, compliance requirements, communication materials, and program website/HCP portal content related to the daily operations of a copay assistance program, and managing internal interfaces for other reimbursement and patient support programs. Interfaces with and manages program vendors and program performance metrics. Additional responsibilities include leading the development and monitoring of program budgets and managing daily problem-solving needs of customers, Field Sales, Field Reimbursement and Payer Account Teams. Position requires hands-on experience developing and managing a broad scope of market access support programs for biologic and specialty injectable products, a high-degree of collaboration and cross-functional interactions with multiple program vendors, several internal functions such as Marketing, Market Access, Business Technology, Corporate Responsibility Group, Legal, Review Committee, as well as biosimilar Field-based Teams. This position will report to the Team Lead for Reimbursement Services for US Biosimilars.

Utilizing skills and knowledge, works independently to lead the daily operations of a copay assistance program, and internal and field-based interfaces with other reimbursement/patient support programs for the Pfizer US biosimilar products including a program website and HCP portal, working with program vendors and key internal stakeholders to ensure programs deliver quality services to HCPs and patients, and operate within budgets and compliantly. Serves as a resource and content-expert for responsible programs.

Lead development and presentation of Reimbursement Services Operating Plan.

Manage Reimbursement Services Operating Expense budget to ensure financial objectives being achieved

Ensure a One-Pfizer approach by identifying cross-BU opportunities for potential vendor synergies by aligning and sharing best-practices with Xeljanz and Oncology Business Unit Reimbursement Teams

Leads cross-functional teams to plan and implement program enhancements, and new market access programs for future product launches as required, and manages changes to program business rules, creation/approval of communication materials and tools used by various field teams working closely with program vendors, Corporate Responsibility Team, US Biosimilars Marketing Team, Legal, Medical/Legal/Regulatory Review Committee, and cross-functional implementation teams.

Leads agency development of content, layout and approval through Review Committee for various program communication materials and tools used by Field Reimbursement and Field Sales Teams. Develops and executes plan for training and implementing tools with field-based teams.

Leads development of training materials and collaborates with Training team to deliver training sessions for vendors, internal and field-based teams as necessary.

Works collaboratively with Reimbursement Services Sr. Manager of Data/Reporting to monitor program utilization data and staffing, budgets and key performance metrics. Responsible for ensuring programs achieving key metrics and for meeting program development milestone's and deliverables for future launches.

Leads cross-functional strategic planning and alignment meetings with program vendor staff, Field Teams and Market Access Account Teams to review payer policy trends, identify payer/reimbursement barriers, and resolve customer reimbursement and patient access barriers. Requires skill at developing innovative solutions and determining action plans to address program issues and reimbursement/patient access barriers with customers, internal and Field-based stakeholders.

Leads vendor planning meetings, program quarterly business reviews, and provides updates for internal market access and marketing meetings.

Able to travel 25 - 30% to attend vendor meetings, company meetings, to collaboratively work with team members in Illinois and New York, and to work with customers or biosimilar Field-based Teams.

This position is located in either our north suburban Chicago/Lake Forest, IL location, or the Pfizer headquarters location in New York, NY; relocation provided

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Business. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience developing as well as managing various types of market access support programs in the pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated accomplishments including reimbursement Hubs, copay and patient assistance programs, field reimbursement support, adherence, injection training or other types of nurse support programs, etc.

Some management experience preferred.

Must have in-depth understanding of coverage, coding and reimbursement of injectable biologic/specialty therapies by Medicare and commercial payers across hospital, clinic, and physician office sites of care.

Excellent computer skills including Word, Power Point and Excel.
