This position will have responsibility for supporting selected areas within the Corporate Accounting and Reporting teamwhich is responsible for Financial Reporting Initiative (FRI) accounting, reporting and analysis for certain US, Canada, Puerto Rico and Global processes. Specific responsibilities of this position include:* Perform daily FRI activities surrounding teams' assigned areas of responsibility* Participate in FRI quarterly financial close activities for US, Puerto Rico, and Canada legal entities* Prepare quarterly and year end reporting for US, Puerto Rico, and Canada legal entities* Collaborate with Division/Market colleagues, Controllers/Consolidations, Treasury, Legal, BT, Commercial Finance, PGS, and Corporate Tax on strategic projects and process improvements. Involvement will require problem solving, communication, presentation and analytical skills* Coordinate assignment of accounts for manual segmentation* Perform direct assignment for GFS-owned accounts and ensuring full segmentation* Uploading CDC BI journal entries* Prepare FRI analytical package and ensure resolution of related questions * Participate in efforts related to system changes and/or implementations impacting area(s) of responsibility* Improve processing efficiencies utilizing innovative technical and processing solutions* Ensure process changes are in compliance with Pfizer accounting / internal control policies and SOX, including relateddocument maintenance* Support internal and external audit requests* Develop and assist in automating accounting processes, analysis techniques and reporting functionality* Work independently with other departments / international locations to research, analyze and resolve irregularities anddiscrepancies* Maintain and develop relationships with groups serviced by GFS Americas as well as within GFS* Provide support to the divisions and Controllers/Consolidations related to acquisitions or divestitures
Some of the key position responsibilities are:Ensure processes are in compliance with Pfizer accounting policies and US GAAPMaintain complete and accurate tasks lists and status of open itemsParticipate in the month end closeCommunicate known issues to manager timelyPrepare complete and accurate standard operating procedures and SOX related internal control documentation involving new activities and/or updating for process changes as requiredPrepare complex financial and accounting analysis completely and accuratelyMaintain domestic and/or international general ledgers including the preparation of material journal entries and complex balance sheet account reconciliationsSelf motivated, initiates tasks with little to no guidance or supportDeliver assigned work product requiring little or no correctionResearch technical and operational accounting issues and provide range of potential solutionsIdentify issues proactively and communicate to manager along with potential range of solutionsPrepare initial draft of financial statementsConsistently meet communicated deadlines with little to no assistanceLead select activities involving the month end close Prepare complex analysis for internal customers, external accountants and Corporate AuditDemonstrate an intermediate understanding of SAPEngage directly with customers and business partners on routine activities and deliverables; continue to develop relationshipsPrepare financial and data analysis completely and accuratelyParticipate on organization committeesParticipate in all relevant training
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor degree in accounting or finance requiredCPA eligible3 years of relevant functional accounting or finance experiencePublic accounting experience preferredKey ERP and edge system experience preferredTECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:Basic and intermediate accounting and financial reporting skills that include the following:Proficiency in PC skills (MS Excel, Word, Power Point) requiredERP system (SAP BI) experience preferredDemonstrated advanced technical financial reporting knowledge and experienceAdvanced SAP and HFM skillsExcellent oral, written, and overall communication skillsStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems in an unstructured environmentStrong business acumen and professionalism with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and operations colleagues in all applicable Pfizer Finance and business functional areas
