Pfizer Director, Pfizer Essential Health Communications Anti in New York, New York
The Director, Pfizer Essential Health (PEH) Communications - Anti-Infectives and Business Development is responsible for developing and executing integrated proactive communications and crisis/issues management plans in support of Pfizer's Anti-Infective Portfolio, which consists of more than 80 products. The Director also is responsible for creating and implementing communications plans to support key business development milestones (both acquisitions and divestitures) within the PEH portfolio.
The Director will report to the Senior Director, PEH Communications - Sterile Injectables, Global Brands and Anti-Infectives, and will serve as a cross-functional business partner and strategic communications advisor to ensure One Pfizer alignment, helping to advance the leadership and reputation profile of the portfolio, shape the operating environment, and achieve global commercial objectives.
Develop and lead integrated internal and external communications strategies and activities that reinforce Pfizer's industry leadership in infectious disease management and underscore the medical, economic and patient-centric value that Pfizer Essential Health's anti-infective medicines and resources deliver to healthcare providers, patients and society.
Create tools to advance education about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and advocacy initiatives among internal and external stakeholders.
Work with a cross-functional team to develop a holistic One Pfizer narrative about Pfizer's commitment to anti-infectives and AMR.
Support Senior Director of PEH communications to develop press releases, Q&A's and key message documents around business development milestones. Lead external partner calls as necessary during the communications planning of acquisitions and/or divestitures.
Guide development of tools for in-market colleagues to support implementation of anti-infective communications strategies and to provide information about relevant business development milestones.
Build strong relationships and partner with Commercial and Corporate Affairs colleagues to develop, coordinate and execute communications strategies in support of key AI portfolio, policy and business development milestones among key stakeholders (e.g., media, customers, third-party organizations, KOLs, advocacy groups).
Develop a comprehensive suite of communications materials (press releases, Q&A, statements, social media campaigns and other tools) to advance initiatives for education and advocacy purposes and/or use with media and other company communicators, as needed.
Develop and implement internal communications plans and activities that enhance colleague knowledge and understanding of Pfizer's leadership.
Develop and implement global issues management strategies and communications to protect/advance reputation for anti-infectives regarding potential issues, e.g., safety, efficacy, supply, quality and operations.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, secure alignment on strategy and messaging, and coordinate market readiness.
Develop and track appropriate metrics to evaluate effectiveness of communications programs.
Provide strategic communications counsel and support to across functions, including Commercial, Investor Relations, Medical, Regulatory, R&D, Legal, Global Policy and Public Affairs, PHI, among others, to ensure alignment across PEH initiatives and issues, as appropriate.
Work with regional/local market communications teams to ensure that strategies are refined, tailored and implemented, and that appropriate Pfizer in-market resources are mobilized to enable execution.
Minimum 10 years of experience and demonstrated skills in developing, managing and delivering communications strategies and activities that advance business goals, as well as hands-on crisis and issues management experience to protect and advance the company's reputation.
Must have extensive external, media relations and internal communications experience.
Must be able to align and integrate communications strategy with business strategy, with demonstrated expertise in communications concepts, practices, strategies and tactics based on understanding of key audiences and corporate objectives.
Must possess executive presence and be able to interact with senior leaders confidently to garner trust and offer strategic counsel.
Ability to translate complex information into clear and concise messages.
Ability to work against tight deadlines, manage multiple projects at once and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Strong analytical, planning, and project management skills. Proven experience in researching, developing, delivering and measuring communications strategies and plans.
Must possess outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
Significant experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical communications required; knowledge/background of PEH business and commercial operating environment strongly preferred.
Must be confident, decisive and adept at navigating a fast-paced and evolving environment, with competing priorities and stakeholders.
Must demonstrate excellent networking and relationship-building skills and the ability to interact with confidence with various levels and functions, including ability to counsel and work successfully with commercial partners.
Must be able to work: 1) in a large, complex, matrixed organization, 2) under pressure, 3) both autonomously and in a team environment, and 4) with all levels of the organization as well as external stakeholders.

Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Communications, Journalism, English or related field.
