Pfizer Operations Excellence Lead in New York, New York

Role Summary

  • The Operations Excellence lead will provide comprehensive operational business support for TOPS (Talent and Organizational Performance Solutions).

  • The Operations Excellence lead will be responsible for implementing the TOPS operating plan with a focus on execution and project management, in alignment with TOPS Portfolio Lead's strategic direction.

  • The Operations Excellence Lead will work with the TOPS Project Coordinators to ensure each initiative has a full change and project management plan in place, aligned with the rest of the TOPS initiatives.


  • Provides day-to-day operational support to TOPS to enhance goal clarity, communication and team engagement.

  • Responsible for driving, executing and implementing the project management plan for all TOPS initiatives.

  • Plans and organizes team face to face and virtual meetings (e.g. Town Halls, LT-1 meetings, operating plan meetings).

  • Drives meeting outcomes ensuring they are action orientated with a focus on delivery of prioritized outcomes.

  • Manages team communication effectiveness via meetings, intranet sites and regular communications.

  • Manages the TOPS budget.

  • Coordinates and aligns external engagements to ensure TOPS represents Pfizer in key forums and with key stakeholders.

  • Map the responsibilities of the current Project Coordinators to drive resource allocation and alignment with the TOPS Portfolio Management Process.

  • Drives and owns the Project Management plan and Dashboard for the TOPS Portfolio.

  • Upholds and role- models Pfizer Values and OWNIT! behaviors.

Educational Requirements:

  • B.A. or B.S. required, MBA or other relevant Master's degree preferred, but not essential

Key capabilities required:

  • Strong project management, time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to connect strategic plans with tactical execution requirements

  • Demonstrated track record of high performance and producing outstanding results

  • Track record of strong networking, collaboration, and influencing without direct authority to drive alignment across a matrixed organization

  • Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Proven analytical strengths to work with complex data sets to drive decision making

  • Discretion and the ability to deal with confidential information

  • Strong PowerPoint and excel skills
