This role will be a critical member of the North America Pfizer Rare Disease Planning and Innovation (PI) Team. As with other members of the PI team, the prospective colleague will be responsible for strategy development, customer insights generation and analytics for the Rare Diseases business inclusive of commercial and medical functions.
The focus of the role will be on developing and advancing strategies for key priorities as identified by the NA Rare diseases leadership team. The individual will be responsible for partnering with the Rare Diseases Commercial Group spanning 5 in line brands and 5 launch brands to provide analytic support, strategic direction and drive solutions in local market environments.
The individual will possess a combination of strategic thinking, analytical expertise, project management skills with excellent communication and presentation abilities to help the NA Rare Diseases organization achieve aggressive growth targets.
The role will be responsible for leading or supporting key strategic initiatives and will need to collaborate closely with brand marketing, sales, account management, specialty access team, Medical, StratCo, legal and finance teams.
Relevant initiatives include:
Assessing Rare diseases short and long-term environmental trends
Developing Long Term Strategy for the US Rare diseases Business
Overall Rare diseases environment, portfolio and business analysis to identify and prioritize opportunities and capabilities
Define strategy to meet customer standards
Develop implementation plans, goals and metrics
Proactively identify opportunities to drive innovation
Drive data generation and analytic initiatives: Develop and maintain data platforms to inform all parts of the business and functions
Support the development of strategies to ensure optimal access for Rare diseases products while maximizing profitability through identification of contracting options, developing financial models to identify optimal contracting strategies and creating execution plans for national/ regional customers
Support development of regional strategy and analytics to identify local market opportunities
Support analytics and strategies for customer facing colleagues across functions including commercial and medical
Design and support organizational enhancements
Also works with Canada Marketing team to create efficiencies for our brands across North America
BA/BS required, advanced degree highly preferred
Minimum of 15 years of commercial analytical experience including broad background in consulting, marketing and business analytics, health economics, marketing strategy or equivalent set of experiences required
Knowledge and deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, broader trends in healthcare landscape and economics. Experience in Rare Diseases preferred
Excellent analytical skills, including strategic thinking, ability to frame problems and opportunities using supporting data, problem solving and measuring impact
Demonstrated proficiency at leading complex multi-faceted projects and managing cross-functional teams
A thought leader and self-starter, proactively identifying the need for specific analyses and programs, and marshaling the resources to evaluate and resolve the most challenging, strategic issues
Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to lead change and influence without direct authority
Ability to influence and establish good working relationships with senior executives
Excellent communication skills, including presentations, PowerPoint/written, meeting facilitation, and one-on-one/small group
