The qualified candidate will join the Analytical R&;D organization to enable development of biological therapeutics in Pearl River, NY. Within Analytical R&;D, the candidate will join the Project Progression &; Biochemistry Group focused on ADCs/monoclonal antibodies/vaccines and other biological modalities. The group develops analytical methodologies and strategies needed to progress biotherapeutic products in the pipeline; this includes method development, process support, formulation and stability support, product characterization and method qualification.
The candidate will be responsible for performing various scientific tasks related to project deliverables with supervision. The candidate is responsible for generating high quality data in support of other business lines in ARD using core analytical methodologies (such as HPLC and CE) for biological molecules, reviewing others experiments and data, and documenting data/results according to applicable compliances including authoring documentation. Effective oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team-based, fast-pace environment are also required.
• Perform various experiments for analytical method development/qualification/validation and characterization for biological therapeutics.
• Perform all experiments under applicable safety and regulatory compliances.
• Generate high quality results in support of BRD/PhRD for various projects in a timely manner.
• Present progress on assay development and sample analysis to colleagues.
• Document data/results. Experience using eLN and working in GMP labs is desirable.
• Review colleagues experiments and results as needed.
• Accountable for completing the assigned tasks and communicate aberrant results in a timely manner.
• Complete required reports/documentation in support of regulatory filings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
0-3 years BS in Chemistry or Biochemistry or related fields
0-1 years MS in Chemistry of Biochemistry or related fields
Technical Skills Requirements:
Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently, and in a collaborative environment are required.
Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
Strong analytical and computer skills are required.
Prior experience with HPLC analysis for biological molecules is highly desirable.
Prior experience with analysis for proteins is desirable.
Familiarization with various general laboratory techniques in chemistry/biochemistry is also desirable.
Other technical skills preferred: capillary electrophoresis, UV-vis spectroscopy, wet chemistry methods.
Position requires occasional light lifting and periods of standing, sitting or walking.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Position may require occasional travel to enable project progression. Position requires adherence to site and local safe work practices.
