Role Description

The qualified candidate will lead the design and implementation of analytical assays in support of new polymeric nanoparticles and liposomal formulations. The colleague will work with a cross-functional development team and apply a variety of analytical methodologies to support physical and chemical characterization of API, polymeric nanoparticles and liposomal formulations. The candidate should be proficient with a breadth of analytical methodologies (e.g. chromatography, mass spectrometry, particle size analysis, calorimetry, UV-Vis and IR spectroscopy, NMR and light scattering), preferably with an expertise in one or more techniques. The colleague should also be proficient with a wide-variety of software and information systems and have a demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and solve complex analytical problems. An understanding of conjugation chemistries and nanoparticle formulation processes is also desirable.


As a lead analyst, the candidate will be responsible for developing analytical strategies and analytical methods for characterization of nanoparticle formulations and liposomes. *The candidate will also perform various experiments for quantitation and purity assessment of small molecule, peptides, as well as polymers with high degree of independence. *Candidate will streamline processes for analytical characterization, data processing, and reporting. *Candidate is expected to regularly present the analytical team's results at project meetings.The individual should keep abreast of scientific/ technological development by participating in scientific meetings/ seminars and through regular scientific review.


0-5 years PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related fields or 5 years MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related fields. *Knowledge and prior experience with HPLC/UPLC with focus on small molecule, lipids and/or protein characterization is required. *Proficiency with EMPOWER is desired. The colleague should have a demonstrated ability to learn new techniques, solve complex analytical problems, prepare technical reports and evaluate new instrumentation or analytical techniques. *Strong written and oral communication skills, comfort with senior management interactions.Ability to work in team based matrix environment is essential.*Ability to prioritize work assignments based on project priorities and maintenance of timelines associated with these priorities. *Proficiency with personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software is desirable.
