Accounting Clerk III will prepare vendor invoices for payment; review account code against system P.O. and reconcile supplier statements. Will also assist in the payroll function including but not limited to weekly payroll for union hourly and non-union hourly.

• Process high volume of invoices

• Research and problem solve supplier invoices

• Verify supplier statements and handle assigned supplier correspondence

• Assist in month -end closing and month-end invoice accruals

• Compose and key all accounts payable accrued invoices

• Assist with special projects as needed

• File weekly A/P voucher after processing

• Train as backup to Payroll Specialist in her/his absence

• Assist in Union Payroll as needed

High School Diploma is required. Some college accounting coursework would be helpful.

A minimum of 3 years of work experience in accounting which includes reviewing and processing invoices, and researching various issues with vendor invoices

Work experience processing union payroll is preferred

• Proficient with MS Office applications

• Good oral and written communications skills

• Good customer service skills, including telephone skills

• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to organize and prioritize work

• Strong and interpersonal skills

• Exposure to ADP system software and Kronos is helpful

• Has strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups and individuals.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment: Office environment, however, will be exposed to warehouse and operational areas as required.

Position requires regular onsite attendance - this position cannot be performed on a remote or telecommute basis on a temporary, short or long term basis.

Must have the ability to simultaneously multi-task across multiple capabilities and functions and handle multiple competing priorities and requirements, including performing site and functional responsibilities, responding to frequent e-mail and phone communications and attending multiple meetings and conference calls. Note that these activities may not be time bound to core hours or presence at the site.

Must have the ability to work effectively under and manage to strict production, time and performance deadlines.

Must be willing and able to work beyond the hours typically defined as a "regular" workday, which may or may not include weekends and holidays
