Pfizer Supply Base Management Specialist in Aprilia, Italy

Mission:

Objective of this role is to continuously improve through innovative procurement solutions, the value; quality and service received by Pfizer within the assigned spend areas through effective sourcing, supplier relationship management, risk management and internal improvement/demand management practices.

She/he has the responsibility for supporting the Supply Base Management Sr Supervisor (Region) and the Site Procurement Lead in the management of Procurement activities for goods and/or services required by the Aprilia Plant Operations under the European Regional Organization, related with direct materials. Performs in compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practices and the Plant procedures and ensures operational procurement support is provided appropriately in order to satisfy the Business needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supports local implementation of global sourcing strategies, interacting closely with Supply Base Mgmt Sr Supervisor (Region) and Global Category Managers for setting category strategies and in supplier development activities, in agreement with Regional Lead;

  • Leads some local strategic sourcing initiatives for targeted categories of spend; negotiating corresponding supply agreements, submitting them for signature as per ASL & guidelines and archiving as per local requirements;

  • Contributes to "Savings" program of the Regional Procurement organization identifying and achieving savings within own area, optimizing cash flow and ensuring Site's objectives are met; update Ariba with cost savings on an on-going basis;

  • Acts in adherence with corporate global policies, site and business specific guidelines and SOPs within the site Procurement function (i.e. cGMP, MAPP, etc...);

  • Follow relevant procedure in order to introduce and or qualify a new supplier/material/ service with GMP impact.

  • Contributes to the submission and monitoring of the activities related with Procurement's Change Control through the interface with the relevant department (QA, QC, GCMC, etc...) in case of change of specifications, manufacturing process, supply channel, discontinuation of materials, cost improvement projects, etc... supporting the documentation, samples, testing, dossier finalization and proactively promotes himself/herself as point of contact to site functions;

  • Coordinates supplier and material qualification activities in the Site relevant to "Saving" or "Business Continuity" projects, managing phase-in and phase-out of changes in materials and suppliers in the Site guaranteeing business continuity;

  • Responsible for communicating all project updates, milestones etc... to team members and stakeholders; support submission of MPRs and monitor alignment of resources;

  • Provides support to QO in the analysis and resolution of investigations/complaints/rejection relevant to Supplier issues;

  • Manages suppliers and monitors their performances in order to check and guarantee the respect of the agreements in place for the assigned categories of spend;

  • Support analysis of Purchase Price Variance Forecast and proactively analyze actual data, produces site procurement metrics on the required frequency;

  • Support proactive risk and vulnerability assessments as per agreed management cycle;

  • Participate in the site Material Review Board meeting when requested;

  • Contribute to the SAP/Ariba and other BT systems data maintenance for all the process related with Procurement (i.e. SMS, supply channels, Suppliers' data, etc ...);

  • Support data maintenance of budget information (price, minimum order quantity, etc...);

  • Creates Purchase/Blanket Orders in SAP/Ariba system and other BT systems and check the data in compliance with the relevant procedures;

  • Effectively utilize Pfizer's eSourcing capabilities in advancing sourcing initiatives;

  • Utilize the tools of Continuous Improvement to drive the resolution of issues and improve supplier performances;

  • Performs all other activities like what detailed above and howsoever relevant with the role.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree;

  • Fluency in Italian language required;

  • Solid English language skills required;

  • Solid knowledge & experience of PC based systems, particularly Microsoft Office;

  • Proven track record in procurement / finance / material management / quality / project management, preferably in pharmaceutical / medical devices industry;

  • Experience in managing Supplier/Material in accordance with GMP requirements;

  • Experience with submission and monitoring of the activities related with Material's Change Control through the interface with the relevant department (QA, QC, Technology, GCMC, etc...) in case of change of specifications, manufacturing process, supply channel, discontinuation of materials, cost improvement projects;

  • Experience with legal contracts and financial analyses;

  • Solid negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills;

  • Able to work at all levels of the organization and in complex structures;

  • Ability to travel.
