Pfizer Forklift Operator in Carlisle, Pennsylvania
Accountable for activities involved with the movement of materials, finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse, and typically includes receiving, storage, inventory control, internal distribution, and shipping, in compliance with corporate standards. Warehouse operators typically use of a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, cranes, hand carts, and power trucks. Warehouse colleagues are also required to perform repeated lifting, stacking, and unstacking of material weighing up to and including 100kg's for extended periods of time, which could mean the entire shift. Clean warehouse: sweep, pickup broken wood, wipe racks, clean equipment, and any other designated tasks assigned by Warehouse supervision. Labeling of material will be required.
Operates forklifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials. Drives electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties. Work as a member of a team, supporting colleagues in daily tasks.
Major Job Duties: Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, and transports load to designated area.
Unloads and stacks material by raising, lowering a lifting device, as well as manually
Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
Load or unload material onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
Direct interaction with the production, finance, external vendors, contractors, quality assurance, office personnel, delivery and pickup drivers and maintenance departments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have high school diploma
Must have experience operating a Stand up, Double-Reach forklift.
Must have experience operating a Sit Down forklift.
SAP experience a plus
Computer aptitude is preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand fluent English.
Basic math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide figures and amounts).
Must be able to repeatedly lift 60lbs for the duration of a work shift.
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; work, climb stairs and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 200 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and to dust or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
