Pfizer Director, Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) Global XELJANZ in Collegeville, Pennsylvania

ROLE SUMMARY

The Director, BAI Global XELJANZ will be the key thought partner to the Global XELJANZ Rheumatology brand team, informing their global strategies and tactics through rigorous market research, analytical support, and competitive intelligence monitoring. Responsibilities will include identifying actionable insights and providing recommendations to drive the growth of the rheumatology franchise - RA, psoriatic arthritis (PsA) as well as AS which is in phase 3 development. To be an effective global thought partner, this person will need to collaborate closely with BAI, commercial and medical colleagues in the regions who support these indications to ensure the alignment and coordination of research. They will need to establish and support a process to inform the XELJANZ PsA launch performance based on regional tracking efforts, and conduct the research necessary to prepare for the expected AS launch. The Director will also need to be flexible in supporting US RHU BAI research / analytic needs, which can include data analytics using the Virtual Analytic Workbench (VAW) or Tableau.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Inform XELJANZ Rheumatology Global Strategies and Tactics through actionable insights

  • Provide business analytics leadership to the XELJANZ Rheumatology Global brand team to enable timely business decisions. Act as strategic partner to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to their global strategies and tactics directed towards HCPs and patients. Provide analysis, insights, and strategic recommendations to support the growth of the RA and PsA indications globally and the future approval of the AS indication.

  • Support data analytic initiatives, using VAW, Tableau or other tools, to ensure the global and US teams are fully leveraging the array of available secondary data to address key business issues. Serve as the team's thought-leader in how to use these tools.

  • Lead identification of information needs, development of research and data analysis plans, management of the research process, and communication of actionable insights in order to proactively identify business challenges / opportunities and how to address them.

  • Clearly communicate insights to a range of internal stakeholders and Pfizer leadership teams to broadly inform key decision makers. When needed, organize cross-functional workshops to embed insights into action plans or ensure brand readiness prior to new competitive launches.

  • Lead the effort to update the global forecasting assumptions for the Long-Range Forecast (LRF) process each year. Collaborate cross-functionally with other BAI colleagues and in forecasting to ensure alignment of assumptions across all RHU in-line and pipeline assets at Pfizer.

  • Lead the RHU Business Analytics Matrix team of global BAI colleagues supporting XELJANZ, Enbrel and biosimilar brands to ensure collaboration and best practice / knowledge sharing in the RHU therapeutic area.

  • Be accountable for coordination of analytical plans, communications, financial planning across key BAI and other BA colleagues who support XELJANZ Rheumatology as well as XELJANZ's Ulcerative Colitis (UC) indication which is currently gaining global approvals.

Providing thought leadership to the Business Analytics and Insights team

  • Identify opportunities for using creative and more efficient data gathering methodologies.

  • Support projects across the BAI organization through best practice and idea sharing.

  • Support and enable knowledge management standards, continuous improvement, and consistent service delivery across BAI.

  • Build and sustain strong collaborative working relationship across BA and broader GBA, including global and regional colleagues.

  • Ensure 100% compliance to Customer Engagement Program (CEP) rules, regulations and guidelines.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in business-related major

  • 10+ years of strong multi-discipline analytical experience, with a preference for experience in the pharmaceutical industry, management consulting, commercial or operations roles

  • Experience leading and managing complex projects

  • Skilled with the tools of primary (qualitative and quantitative) and secondary research and data analysis; demonstrated ability to triangulate data across multiple sources.

  • Experience leading and achieving results through matrixed organizations.

  • Experienced in budget management and resource allocation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MA, MS, MBA or equivalent advanced degree in business or healthcare

  • Experience in merging data sets and conducting analytics to inform decisions, using VAW, Tableau or other tools

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • 10% travel which can involve some international travel

  • Expected to participate in meetings at the NY HQ or ad agencies as necessary
