ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer Consumer Healthcare (PCH) is among the largest over-the-counter (OTC) health care product companies in the world. PCH has products in over 65 countries and employs over 3,000 people.

  • The General Manager, will lead a superior product portfolio including Advil, Centrum, and Caltrate. The geographic scope of the position in 2018: Puerto Rico ($44 Million market) as well as the Caribbean islands ($6 Million market) and is expected to grow to $xxxx for Puerto Rico and $xxxx for Caribbean islands by 2020.

  • Set and lead the strategic direction for Puerto Rico & Caribbean Islands in line with the global and regional strategy and the local market environment.

  • Organize, lead and manage Pfizer Consumer Healthcare business in Puerto Rico & Caribbean islands in order to achieve or exceed yearly budgets (revenue and IBT). To maximize sales and long-term profitability of the portfolio by ensuring effective sales and marketing execution and resource optimization

  • Achieve sustained growth targets for the affiliates consistent with internal and external compliance requirements and in line with the company values, policies and SOPs. Drive business results with integrity.

  • Provide leadership to the area in order to position PCH in a leading role within the industry

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set and lead the strategic direction for the Affiliates in line with the global strategy and the local market environment, as well as the day to day execution of operations to achieve the short and medium term objectives of the affiliate, both in terms of revenue and IBT

  • Lead the preparation of annual operating plan and long range strategic plan for Puerto Rico & Caribbean Islands and follow through the implementation throughout the year

  • Manage a workforce of approximately 50 full time employees

  • Act as a core member of the Regional Management Team optimizing resource allocation decisions to improve the Region/PCH, brand portfolio, ways of working and go-to-market strategies

  • Plan for the future - Create the vision and provide the leadership to grow the business through developing & effectively implementing the short/long-term strategy and plans.

  • Optimize growth and performance of the Consumer portfolio by executing in country plans and identifying new opportunities to drive growth

  • Develop and execute the Regional Vision, Strategy and Goals in partnership with the LATAM Regional Management Team

  • Drive a culture of compliance across the organization

  • Partner with PGS as key working relationship (supply and logistics especially for islands) and familiarity with Regulatory due to the number of regulatory bodies in this affiliate

  • Also need a good understanding of a broad range of trade channels for PR (club, food, drug, mass, independent, and down the trade calmados (gas station/ conv/etc

  • Track and report business performance and provide forecast on monthly/quarterly/FY results

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to PCH teams so that they consistently meet and exceed performance metrics

  • Develop a high performance team environment that provides motivation and development opportunities for team members to support short and long term business success

  • Inspire others, drive engagement, and foster an OWNIT! culture

  • Lead change and continue to evolve the business in response to a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex & Ambiguous environment while keeping colleagues in the markets focused on delivering the business

  • Manage and develop talent across Puerto Rico & Caribbean Islands and in the LATAM regional team and equip managers to follow Pfizer processes (performance management, talent planning, people development)

  • Hold colleagues accountable within the context of Pfizer vision, mission, codes of conduct and values and financial management practices

  • Design and implement an organizational structure and resourcing to drive growth and profitability

  • Provides leadership on key issues for Pfizer through the establishment and maintenance of positive relationships within the industry and with external stakeholders (e.g. Key Opinion Leaders, regulators, etc)

  • Make timely decisions and communicates clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders

  • Proactively manage relationships with PIH, PEH and partner effectively with PCH and Pfizer Inc. platform and enabling function leaders spanning HR, Finance, Medical, Regulatory, PGS, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Affairs, etc.

  • Represent the business needs of PCH at the Country Management Forum

  • Support and drive brand innovation pipeline and new launches development

  • Performance and development of the Affiliate's leadership teamProvide leadership on key issues for Pfizer through the establishment and maintenance of positive relationships within the industry and with external bodies

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Administration, Economics, Medicine or related areas.

  • 10 + years experience in a sales or marketing role with a minimum of 5 years in a senior sales and marketing leadership role within OTC/FMCG environment including P&L responsibility

  • Diverse functional knowledge of and exposure to regulatory, finance, medical and manufacturing

  • Government, key stakeholder expertise, influencing and negotiation experience

  • Working effectively in a matrix environment

  • Proven track record in setting, driving and managing business targets and achieving superior sales profit and market objectives.

  • Strong leadership skills, including strong influencing skills and conflict resolution skills.
