ROLE SUMMARY

Performs a variety of basic to complex analytical laboratory analyses of raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, finished products and special projects samples. Has an understanding of most procedures within the assigned laboratory and associated production area (s) following established procedures and technique •. Dominate the knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices, QC Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures and Safety requirements. The Laboratory Technologist also assists in scheduling of work and review/approval of laboratory data.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive, log samples in electronic logbooks and distribute samples.

Perform testing in the laboratory.

Reviews laboratory data, as required.

Follows and understands assigned Standard Test Procedures (STP's) with minimal explanation. Interprets and comments on STP's when applicable, suggesting improvements and modifications.

Performs work following extensive written and/or oral instructions, however, the incumbent may occasionally work independently requiring only limited guidance and direction.

Is familiar with most product(s)/ process (es) within the assigned laboratory and recognizes priority of test requirements. If applicable, participates in production related inspection duties including GMP inspections.

Maintains and operates typical laboratory equipment. Recognizes malfunction in simple laboratory equipment and advises supervision or performs simple repairs.

Ensures calibration and standardization of laboratory instrumentation and reagent.

Uses automated Lot Release System (i.e. EMPOWER, LIMS, MAPS, SAP).

Maintains laboratory supplies inventory and performs routine housekeeping duties.

Assists in the training of technicians.

Assists in the scheduling of work assignments

Follows all departmental procedures and practices related to laboratory safety, data documentation, and good laboratory and manufacturing practices.

Support PAT activities.

Develops reduce testing program and issuance product change request (PCR).

Other duties as required by his/her supervisor of designee.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate Degree minimum; preferable BS in Chemistry or applicable scientific discipline.

Experience: 0 to 3 years of experience in an analytical laboratory or an applicable scientific discipline

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, testing and technique.

Computer literate

Ability to read and write in English and Spanish. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferable.

Be able to communicate well and follow instructions. Team collaboration.

Available to provide on call support during weekends and after working hours.

Willing to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays when necessary.
