Pfizer AI Innovation & Design Lead Director in Groton, Connecticut
Clinical Data Management and Statistical Programming processes have not changed in the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years. What has changed over the years is the establishment of stable data collection and analysis and reporting standards deployed within known data collection and statistical programming systems. Pfizer has automated the transformation of data through reporting but we have not optimized the FTE pool comprised of hands on data managers and programmers to manually trigger and monitor this process. With the advent of AI/ML/RPA/NLP we believe these processes at Pfizer are rich with opportunities to take advantage of these technologies.
This new position will develop and advance a bold vision of the future by seeking new technologies, studying the industry landscape and challenging the status quo. Building long-term global partnerships within key functional groups within Pfizer will be critical to the success of this role, ensuring a continuous flow of ideas to make an impact on how we plan, collect and analyze data to support the delivery of new drug treatments to patients.
In this role, one must utilize skills in Analysis, Creativity, Design, and Strategic Planning to enable ideas to emerge into business opportunities that can be implemented within our enterprise.
Lead creation of a long term strategy including maturing automation through AI, Robotic Process Automation, Cognitive Science and Machine Learning in support of Pfizer Global Biometrics and Data Management (GBDM)
Lead the centralized point of reference for Automation across the organization and be the lead business partner advisor on automation initiatives, value mapping and methods
Develop solution (along with alternatives) to automate the business process using RPA platforms, and other available products/utilities (both internal and external)
Represent the business and provide guidance to Automation initiatives
Provide thought leadership on innovation: Identify new opportunities, technologies, risks, and trends. Stay current with leading edge systems, methods, and best practices in the automation/ data science/machine learning fields
Identify new strategic approaches to accelerate innovation. Seek exposure to wide variety of technology problems and their solutions to drive the adoption of best practices
Lead and coach internal teams and business partners leveraging proven expertise and experience in the automation space
Masters or MBA degree required, preferably in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or specialized training
8 years of professional experience leading process design and continuous improvement initiatives
3 years of business process automation experience preferred
3 years of experience leveraging Intelligent Automations (RPA) with one of the market leading RPA platforms: Automation Anywhere, BluePrism and/or UIPath preferred
Expert Communication skills: build presentations and provide demos or executive pilots with internal partners
