Pfizer Aseptic Operator (3:00pm in Kalamazoo, Michigan
Injectable Aseptic Operators are responsible for filling injectable drug product into primary containers. Work is performed in strict compliance with manufacturing standards (SOPs) and all regulatory requirements (i.e., GMPs). This job includes the following functions: aseptic gowning and personnel monitoring, processing of hazardous and non-hazardous drug products, basic computer skills and physical material handling. Colleagues are expected to share best practices with other colleagues on their shift, and across shifts.
Colleagues will be required to work in other areas, such as Freeze Dry, Inspection, or Packaging, as production demands require. Over-time (including unplanned daily and weekend work) as production demands require.
Specific job functions include:
Loading glass into the depyrogenation tunnels; traying and wrapping finished product; GMP documentation entries in the batch record; observing all safety rules; cleaning and sanitizing filling lines per approved procedures; assisting the operations technician with readying and running the filling lines; executing quality in-process verifications; taking product samples during the production run; wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment as required; participation in development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions; proactively seeking alternative value added tasks during unplanned line downtime; completing and maintaining all required training on schedule; and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education: High school diploma / general education degree (GED) plus either an Associates degree or related experience (e.g. current or previous Pfizer colleague; Manufacturing, Packaging or Veterans/Military relevant experience)
• Mathematical Skills: basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiply, divide, percentages; use of calculator)
• Physical Demands: lifting/lowering up to 55 pounds; reaching; standing/walking/stooping/crawling. May be on feet for hours at a time. Frequent weekend work.
• Work Environment: Colleague must work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Use of hearing and eye protection is required.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Primary shift is 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm). Must be able to work overtime as necessary - weekends and holidays. Work requirements will include adherence to aseptic gowning procedures and work practices in the aseptic processing area.
