Pfizer Lead Logistics Operator I (1st Shift 7:00am in Kalamazoo, Michigan

ROLE SUMMARY

The Lead Logistic Operator I is responsible for detailed knowledge of warehousing discipline, industry practices and standards. They need to develop solutions to routine and complex problems following established Pfizer policies and procedures. They need to be able to perform under limited direction. Contributes to the completion of routine and strategic tasks. Interacts with internal and external contacts as well as immediate work group. Works collaboratively with others to gain agreement on a course of action.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lead Logistics Operator I will perform the following:

  • Participate in and leads QASA and customer audits. Participate in regulatory audits.

  • Inspecting shipments prior to receipt (includes x-raying incoming mail)

  • Unloading trucks/containers and receiving materials into the inventory system (including small parcels)

  • Moving materials using forklifts and transfer trucks. Labeling and transferring materials to an approved pallet. Placing in storage locations.

  • Sampling raw materials

  • Picking and delivering materials to production and receiving material from production

  • Preparing materials for shipment (API, DP, misc. parcels) and loading trucks/containers for shipment and bracing/securing as necessary

  • Performing transactions in the inventory tracking systems

  • Training new operators or cross-training as required

  • Documenting activities as required.

  • Interacting with internal customers and enabling groups (e.g. Quality, EHS, etc...)

  • Performing self-audits and inspections

  • Participating on teams as required (e.g. Safety Team, process improvement teams, special projects)

  • Complying with all Standard Operating Procedures, internal/external regulations, safety guidelines and GMP's.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of Warehouse CAPAs including access to QTS to complete corrective actions.

  • Investigate and resolve data integrity issues in SAP and warehouse documentation.

  • Set schedules, assign/rotate operator roles, and dispatch workload to Logistics Operators.

  • Proficient in SAP

  • Backfills TL position as required

  • Participates in M1 and PHP investigations

  • Monitor and order operating supplies as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Certificates, Licenses or Registrations: Ability to obtain the following certifications as applicable: Fork-Lift certification, Hazmat certification, DOT certification, Valid Driver's License, CDL with Hazmat

  • Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Applications and experience with ERP or related systems

  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50lbs, Repetition of activities, Stair climbing and extended standing and/or walking. Frequent time around equipment with moving parts, Ability to use warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks

  • Work Environment: Colleague potentially exposed to blood borne pathogens, airborne particles, and cephalosporin. Must work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Use of hearing, eye protection and other personal protective equipment is required. Colleague can be exposed to extreme cold and hot temperatures, inside and outside of the buildings. Outside activities are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years warehouse experience or related training

  • Frequent time around equipment with moving parts.

  • Ability to use warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
