Pfizer Process Tech 2 in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Responsible for processing raw materials (i.e. human and equine blood and plasma) into Stroma to be used in the formulation of ATGAM Purified Drug Substance by means of a large-scale biologic separation processes (i.e. centrifugation). This position is a Process Technician 2 in the Biologic Operations unit of PGM. This is an experienced level position, performing, learning, and teaching basic techniques, processes, and operations or preparing sterile medicines and formulation equipment. Work is performed in strict compliance with manufacturing standards and all regulatory requirements. Responsible for completing all OJT's and tasks required to perform job duties which include documentation, computers, equipment, work practices within aseptic areas, and production of all defined routine products. Demonstrates ability to properly problem solve work-related issues, work with an appropriate level of independence, exercise good judgment/decision making, and effectively work with team members. Education: High school diploma / general education degree (GED) and 6 months related experience or military experience or an Associate's degree.

Mathematical Skill: Applicant will possess basic mathematical skills in order to perform calculations in batch records.

Reasoning Ability: Applicant should possess basic reasoning ability.


Experience in handling and manufacturing of Biologic Drug Substance and/or Drug Product.

Previous experience in Drug Product Manufacturing and/or Biologic Drug Substance Manufacturing highly desired, but not required.


Physical Demands: Job tasks may include frequent bending, lifting, and twisting motions. Ability to stand upright for several consecutive hours. Absence of any medical restrictions which could restrict completion of all required duties. Additional demands are area specific.

Work Environment: Colleague may be exposed to airborne particles which require appropriate safety protection, noise levels may require protective hearing devices, eye protection required. Practices and promotes safe working environmental at all times. Area specific gowning will be required.
