Pfizer Truck Driver in Kalamazoo, Michigan

The Truck Driver role is a critical role for the Kalamazoo site ensuring materials are delivered to and from production buildings in a timely, safe and compliant manner. Colleagues in this role need to be customer focused and flexible.Drive various sized vehicles for the transportation of personnel, courier pouches, finished goods, mail, equipment, supplies, raw materials and other items for customer units.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Modify daily schedule based on knowledge of customer units, their requirements, buildinglocations and production needs.

  • Load and Unload trucks.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and road rules (speed limits, stop signs, etc...)

  • Complete and verify all required paperwork.

  • Perform transactions and queries in SAP as required.

  • Perform pre/post trip vehicle maintenance checks to comply with Department of Transportationregulations.

  • Maintain awareness of all DOT regulations and HAZMAT requirements.

  • Comply with all State and Federal regulations as well as Standard Operating Procedures andGMP's.

  • Work offshifts as required. (minimal)

  • Work independently to learn new positions within the Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/general education degree (GED) and six months related experience ormilitary experience or associate's degree.

  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience driving trucks or class A semis and forklift experiencerequired.

  • Ability to obtain the following certifications as applicable: Forklift certification, Hazmatcertification, DOT certification, Valid CDL

  • Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

This position will be First Shift: 7:00 am to 3:20 pm

Overtime as required
