Pfizer GA & Tax Officer in Makati City, Philippines
MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB
Responsible for the maintenance of the Company's books of accounts and preparation of required analysis for the generation of Financial Reports. Ensure compliance with all Accounting and Tax regulations. Supervision of General Accounting and Tax department including personnel management. Ensures strict compliance to Accounting Policies and Procedures (APP), local policies as well as FCPA and MAPP Guidelines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Daily Tasks:
Read and handle replies to e-mails including coordination with internal and external customers, research and preparation of required report or analysis. Checks, reviews and analyze transactions in the books of accounts and all documents submitted to General Accounting & Tax. Conducts continuous review of company's internal controls and procedures and ensure implementation. Reviews changes made in the system, if applicable. Provide guidance on proper accounting treatment (based on Pfizer global policy, accounting standards and tax regulations), market policies and procedures including supporting documents and analysis. Assess impact to the company, if any, of new tax and other accounting agencies regulations/pronouncement. Provides assistance in Global initiatives, participate in cross-functional projects and carry-out specials and requests. Handles administrative works related to GA & Tax functions. Assists the General Accounting and Tax Manager for all Accounting and Tax related matters. Performs ASL coordinator function. Performs other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Reviews and attends to closing of General Ledger to facilitate generation of Financial Statements. Reviews Trial balance before submission to FDM. Reviews monthly schedules prepared by GFS and Tax colleagues and communicates with concerned parties for the resolution of long outstanding items. Reviews the monthly tax reports and returns for submission to BIR. Reviews all TB accounts for unusual/non-moving balances. Analyzes other balance sheets for resolution of long outstanding items. Reviews monthly reports required by Pfizer consolidation group. Handles internal and external reportorial requirements for GA and Tax function.
Reviews the quarterly Supplemental Reporting requirements. Prepares the Balance Sheet Review and flux analysis. Assists in completion of Survey questionnaires by National Statistics Office, BSP, and other Government Agencies Reviews the quarterly tax reports and returns for submission to BIR. Reviews Compensation Accumulation Template (CAT) Report submitted to PWC. Handles internal and reportorial requirements for GA and Tax function.
Semi- Annual Tasks:
Handles internal and reportorial requirements for GA and Tax function. Reviews access rights in Accord Dispose the items with comments during the ASL Reviews Handles internal and reportorial requirements for GA and Tax function.
Checks and reviews various year-end reports for submission to:
Pfizer US and other Pfizer entities/colleagues
Bureau of Internal Revenue and other government entities.
Attends to internal and external reportorial requirements including coordination with Pfizer colleagues/entities to facilitate finalization and meet reportorial deadlines ( internal and external) Computes for the Final Income Tax and deferred income tax for the year. Reviews the Year-end Financial Statement including Notes to FS and the Annual Income Tax Return Attends to various tax and financial audit (BIR/ external and corporate audit) Prepares requested data for the annual budget for GA & Tax department. Attend/participate to various CSR program of the company.
- INTERNAL CUSTOMERS AND TYPE OF INTERACTION:
Work Closely with General Accounting and Tax Manager and other Finance Colleagues. Coordinates closely with colleagues within the organization.
- EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS AND TYPE OF INTERACTION:
Maintains regular communications with consultants (tax, actuarial, lawyers), GFS and SAP team for any reportorial requirements and queries.

- MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
- MINIMUM JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
5 years working experience, minimum 2 years experience in supervisory role; knowledge in taxation.
- OTHER REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
Computer literate, knowledgeable in SAP system is an advantage, good analytical skill, agile, hardworking, with positive attitude, willing to learn, accept additional responsibility and to work overtime, good interpersonal and communication skills.
