Pfizer Director, Medical Affairs, US Prostate Cancer Team (MD) in New York City, New York

The Director, Medical Affairs Oncology is headquarters based medical colleague in the US Prostate Cancer Team, responsible for providing therapeutic area / product expertise for the Prostate Cancer, including enzalutamide (Xtandi). He/she will collaborate with relevant team members in executing regional medical product strategy and ensuring consistency of approach and deliverables for US Medical Affairs activities. Will maintain effective and appropriate communication and collaboration among medical colleagues, including but not limited to Publications, Medical Information, HEOR, and Field Medical colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve on medical and/or disease area/asset cross-functional committees, as appropriate.

  • Provide medical leadership for concept development and review of promotional and sales training materials.

  • Partner with legal, regulatory and marketing colleagues to ensure compliant, accurate and high quality content of all promotional and sales training materials.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the Pfizer/Astellas Alliance co-developing enzalutamide (Xtandi) and serve on joint committees, as appropriate.

  • Contribute to the medical planning for brand/asset team projects and activities, and work with medical leadership to develop and implement the medical plan for Pfizer products in the designated therapeutic area.

  • Ensure compliance with all internal/external SOPs/Rules/Regulations.

  • Keep abreast of medical and scientific developments in the designated therapeutic area by continuously reviewing literature in the Prostate Cancer field, monitoring competitor activities, networking with experts and attending assigned conferences.

  • Serve as medical resource to therapeutic area investigators and researchers, as appropriate.

  • Serve as a project lead as assigned by the medical leadership.

  • Be recognized as a sought out medical expert by colleagues broadly across the enterprise and the Alliance.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced medical degree (MD, DO) required.

  • Oncology experience preferred and direct expertise in Prostate Cancer of interest.

  • 3+ years industry / Medical Affairs experience strongly preferred. Product launch experience of interest.

  • Highly motivated with demonstrated track record of high performance and producing outstanding results.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.

  • Capable of comprehending and communicating in a clear, concise manner a large amount of scientific information.

  • Proven ability to facilitate open discussion and debate among key stakeholders and build internal and external relationships through partnering, anticipating needs, fulfilling expectations.

  • Travel should be anticipated and is estimated to be 20%.

  • Friday flexibility to work from home.
