Within BA, the Analytics Methodology Center serves as a Center of Expertise with the dual mandate of leading business critical projects utilizing a combination of advanced analytics/data science techniques and consulting skills while also building a pathway to standardization and democratization of analytic methods. The mission of the team is to increase analytics impact by both advancing analytic methods and increasing the scale and utilization of these methods across the enterprise. The Sr. Manager, Forecasting Excellence, will be providing consulting support by developing forecasting methodologies and forecasting tools to answer the business critical questions pertaining to product and portfolio strategy.
This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics that are critical to our business. You will join BA colleagues worldwide that are constantly supporting business transformation through their proactive thought leadership, innovative analytical capabilities and their ability to communicate highly complex and dynamic information in new and creative ways
Develop forecast models for the valuation of internal pipeline assets, external opportunities and lifecycle programs for the global and regional organizations
Develop tools to enable business analytics and commercial colleagues in conducting forecasting analytics
Advise commercial and business analytics teams on forecasting methodologies and supporting analytics around an assessment
Develop evidence-based guidance for financial targets and demand forecasts
Assess and advise on event risk, competitive dynamics, and effects of international health policy
Determine approaches to integrating promotion impact and resource allocation events on forecasting opportunities
Closely partner with forecasting vendor partners on leading technical development of forecasting assets
Ability to effectively partner with various stakeholders on developing comprehensive forecast models that are adaptable and comprehensive in their ability to answer business questions
Client and Business Analytics Partner Feedback
Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, operations research, engineering, or finance)
At least 4+ years' experience developing and managing forecasting projects/assessments within the pharmaceutical sector
At least 4+ years of strong multi-disciplinary analytics experience, with a preference for experience in the pharmaceutical industry or management consulting
Advanced Degree in analytics related areas including management science, operations research, business decision analysis, statistics/data science, economics, or finance
Strong communication skills
Background in consulting and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing strongly preferred
Strong team player, ability to maintain strong cross-functional and cross-team ties to influence colleagues outside direct reporting structure.
Technical skills and competencies:
Strong strategic, conceptual and analytical thinking combined with the ability to lead and build relationships with partners to quickly understand business strategies, identify analytics needs and designs effective solutions.
Proven ability to recognize interactions between insights, identify trends, proactively recognize future business needs and link them to current and future analytics.
Strong quantitative modeling skills (Excel/Excel VBA, SAS and/or R)
Exceptional communicator: Can understand, translate, and distill the complex, technical findings of the team into commentary that facilitates effective decision making by senior leaders; can readily align interpersonal style with the individual needs of customers
