The PIH I & I Business Unit seeks a Sr. Director US Medical Affairs for the Dermatology team. Reporting to the US Dermatology Medical Team Lead, the Sr. Director is an integral member of the US Medical Team. The Sr. Director combines medical expertise and understanding of the patients and physicians point of view with that of the Dermatology Disease Area and Brand. He/she is part of a cross-functional environment where colleagues always understand and exhibit customer-focused medical professionalism with honor and integrity. Sr. Director is the strategic partner and single point of accountability for given function/responsibility with commercial brand team, and provides medical leadership and strategic inputs to ensure appropriate and safe clinical use of Crisaborole in US. Sr. Director supervises medical directors to develop and advance their capability and career, develop and execute medical operating plan, and provide medical support to commercial strategies and operations.

The Sr. Director will work in a matrix management enviornment and oversee planning and timely, high quality execution of medical tactics such as IIR, CRC, advisory boards, ect. to support the prodcut launch and lifecycle plans. Understand and effectively communicate current scientific knowledge, including medical needs, to different stakeholders, including patients, within disease area, customizing the communication for the audience leading to effective communication. Establish how the medicine's profile fits into customer needs in the US and the commercial strategy and compares to competitive medicines, effectively communicating same to various stakeholders, including patients. Lead working groups in a professional, inclusive manner encouraging open discussion as related to assigned activities and specific roles, while demonstrating respect for people. Actevely engage KOLs and HCPs to build up Pfizer commitment in dermatology, understand customer insights and develop continue communication and collaboration on clincial research and medical education.

The Sr. Director will develop long-term relationships with a wide variety of key healthcare stakeholders and customers to include Medical Groups and key opinion leaders in order to demonstrate clinical and economic value of Pfizer's assets in the treatment of dermatology diseases. These activities are implemented to help inform HCPs and formulary decision-makers through medical presentations, pharmacoeconomic analyses, and outcomes evaluations along with MOS and FMD colleagues. Additional customer collaborations are built with the goal of aligning corporate medical priorities with the specific needs of the customer to advance the quality of patient care in areas of mutual interest, to identify provider and/or patient knowledge gaps, and areas for quality improvement interventions. They will develop, in conjunction with dermatology team members, an advanced perspective of the evolving clinical and healthcare landscape of dermatology.

The Sr. Director will utilize his/her understanding of clinical and patient-directed dermatology issues to help assist Pfizer on most strategic approach to launch of new indications and grow existing indications. The Sr. Director will also provide Pfizer brand teams with customer and clinical insights to assist in informing Pfizer strategies on critical dermatology health issues and facilitate the development of customer-focused tools and medical communications to support patient access to quality medicines.


  • Strategic oversight the medical leadership and medical strategic input on Crisaborole US to ensure appropriate clinical use

  • Single point of accountability for given function and responsibility of medical support to commercial team

  • Execute medical operating plan with highest quality with optimal project and budget managements

  • Engage KOLs and HCPs customers to build up Pfizer commitment in dermatology, understand customer insights and develop continue communication and collaboration on clinical research and medical education

  • Supervise medical directors to develop and advance their capability and career, and develop and execute medical operating plan

  • Oversight of presentations of Pfizer data and compliant implementation of strategy into RC and MRC approved materials

  • Oversight for medical strategy for promotional materials

  • Coach and provide medicine(s) or/and therapeutic area expertise to other medical and non-medical cross-functional colleagues including training

  • Cross functional efforts with constituents from Commercial, MOS, FMD, GH&V, RWD

  • Participate in the medical/scientific assessment of potential business development activities and pre-proof of concept compounds within Pfizer

  • Research as requested Manage project, vendors, budgets (track/forecast) and personnel (team leaders or matrix leaders)

  • Plan and lead successful advisory boards, congress-related symposia

  • Plan and lead the strategy and execution of IIR, CRC and ASPIR

  • Contribute to scientific, long-term life cycle planning and publication

  • Serve as a reliable, trusted resource of accurate, current medical and scientific knowledge (e.g.: disease states, product label, statistics interpretation etc), including competitive medicines, for internal and external stakeholders and customers

  • Objectively interpret technical and commercial information to deliver value added education to assigned teams

  • Serve as a translator between technical and commercial functions, driving the transfer and appropriate application of both commercial and clinical knowledge, ideas, and needs

  • Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs, and as appropriate, Commercial Development, Clinical Development, research, and other cross-functional teams in driving US strategic direction for Brand

  • Contribute to the planning and timely, high quality execution of medical tactics across indications to support the US lifecycle plan for Brand

  • Understand and effectively communicate current scientific knowledge, including medical needs, to different stakeholders, including patients, within disease area, customizing the communication for the audience leading to effective communication

  • Partner with field based medical colleagues external medical team and provide strategic leadership and impactful materials for field based medical execution


  • Pharm D or PhD or equivalent with at least 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or in clinical practice

  • Extensive experience in dermatology highly desired

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical space in dermatology

  • Extensive experience in Medical Affairs required, and management experience highly desired

  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills

  • Strong project management skills, including ability to handle multiple projects

  • Proven track record of success, on medical business and people development

  • High energy self-starter who has initiative to function autonomously

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Collaborative with a track record of building effective networks and teams


Travel 25% of time
