Pfizer Process Analytical Technology Specialist in Newbridge, Ireland

The Process Analytical Technology (PAT) Specialist will be involved in a wide variety of PAT activities that support the Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) manufacturing. Responsibilities will include the implementation and use of PAT, maintenance of existing PAT applications and corresponding chemometric models. Development, optimization and validation of PAT methods (e.g. NIR, Raman). Assessment of new technologies for key operating units and the preparation of technical report.

Specific areas of responsibility

  • Maintains current PAT systems, models and procedures.

  • Assessment of new and emerging PAT technologies.

  • Completion of feasibility studies.

  • Authoring of relevant technical documentation.

  • Assisting in site investigations using PAT technology and data analysis.

  • Adopts a risk-based approach to problem solving, determination of root cause, issue resolution and recommendation.

  • Analyzes and interprets many test results independently. Makes some decisions on issues and informs supervisor of action taken. Contributes to the design of new applications.

  • Contributes on project teams.

  • Initiates and develops plans to ensure the timely completion of several projects/assignments. Independently coordinates activities with others.

  • Take full responsibility for assigned projects and responsibilities.

  • Ensuring equipment and services are kept in a safe condition.

  • Completion of required training to support role.

  • Participate in cross functional teams.

  • Perform additional duties as directed by the PAT & Data Analytics lead

General Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to site policies/procedures, cGMP/GLP and environmental, health and safety regulations.

  • Ensure area of responsibility is maintained in a constant state of compliance and audit readiness in line with current regulations, PQS, and business needs. All related procedures and documentation are maintained accordingly.

  • Execute responsibilities in line with Right First Time principles

  • Ensure resolution of and/or appropriate escalation of issues

  • Demonstrating company values and Pfizer competencies

  • Ensure that all department metrics are adhered to Provide subject matter expertise and support for systems, technologies and products.

  • Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities and progress Continuous Improvement projects. Support the introduction of new products.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education:

Third level Qualification in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy or a related technical discipline is preferred.

Exceptions may be considered where relevant experience and correct attitude and behaviour exist (this may be supplemented by further education in parallel).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in industry.

  • Understanding of NIR and other measurement techniques that are suitable for PAT and RTRt is perferred.

  • Experience with chemometrics and data modeling packages such as Simca, Unscrambler, Matlab would be desirable.

  • The ability to work successfully in both a team/matrix environment as well as independently is essential

  • The ability to work in a fast pace environment, manage priorities, and maintain timelines for multiple projects is essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
