Pfizer PGS BT Architecture and Solution Delivery Director in Peapack, New Jersey

The PGS BT A&SD Director role will collaborate with colleagues in PGS BT, PGS Global Engineering, PGS Sites, BT Infratructure and Global Information Security to develop a Technology and Process Roadmap that encompasses the IT systems in PGS. The individual will also lead the execution of the Technology Roadmap and Strategy to protect Pfizer's Manufacturing sites, labs and distribution centers globally. This role provides leadership to establish standards, develop architecture designs and enable collaboration across Pfizer's Global Supply technologies managed by PGS BT, BTI and Local Engineering.

The PGS BT A&SD Director role will bring Information Technology, Cybersecurity expertise and Industrial Controls Systems or Operational Technology knowledge to secure and protect Pfizer's manufacurinng sites.

The candidate will lead Technical and Application Architecture strategy for Manufacturing and Lab IT solutions, In the course of achieving this, the candidate will:

  • Map business needs to enterprise technology reference architectures, standards and reusable assets thus ensuring alignment to business needs throughout the project architecture, engineering and implementation phases and ensuring time/risk/cost benefits.

  • Lead global governance (across IT, PGS and geographies) for Cyber Security solution architecture in collaboration with the global and site teams

  • Identify, evaluate and leverage emerging and innovative approaches, frameworks and technologies where applicable

  • Strategic solutions and tool evaluation that fits global Pfizer and PGS standards and requirements.

  • Interface to PGS client and application teams, as appropriate to ensure strategic alignment.

  • Develop communications and present to LT members on existing and future programs to present alignment, impact and involvement from technology areas in Pfizer.

  • Current state technology portfolio analysis, including project estimation for annual project portfolio submission on potential technology solutions to minimize cyber risk and improve protection.

  • Participate in external communities to influence architecture and technology standards to support Pfizer's objectives in Cyber Security and IT/OT technologies

  • Create a technology portfolio for PGS that includes current and future technologies that support PGS business priorities. Includes infrastructure roadmaps and application dependencies.

  • The PGS BT A&SD Director will also be accountable for managing multi million dollar budgets assigned to the area in the form of Project/Program budget as well as Business Unit budget to maintain efficiency and excellence across systems and initiatives in the PGS area

  • The PGS BT A&SD Director conducts all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOPs, Pfizer Values, FDA & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), environmental guidelines, as appropriate and where applicable etc.

Role Responsibilities

Client Management

  • Understand client's operational needs and strategic direction.

  • Support BT Client Partners in managing and setting stakeholder expectations at Senior Leadership level

  • Shape thinking and propose a vision on how technology solutions support the goals of the business. Define and execute the strategy towards the vision for PGS technologies combining Business Requirements and overall PGS Strategy

  • Systems Engineering - Lead resolution on technical requests by gathering, analyzing and prioritizing technical requirements to determine how best to create successful resolution

  • Evaluate optimal solution among proposed implementation solutions

  • Work with Service Providers Leadership and Customers Representatives to Deliver technologies/projects effectively and efficiently

  • In Collaboration with BT Client partners and business clients, prepare and advocate business cases for BT Investments

  • Help Customers understand Service Offerings available from internal IT Service Providers and define resource engagement strategy for Projects, partnership with Business, and facilitating

Service Delivery

  • Collaborate with other Functional Leaders and BT Leadership to develop and execute Technology Strategy

  • Ensure that customer expectations have been met through delivery of services and projects ultimately delivering the overall Pfizer BT Strategy

  • Drive business unit sponsorship, at the appropriate level, for all initiatives

  • Align BT Technologies with current and future needs of the Business and its Customers and Drive quality of services improvement across deliveries

Project Management

  • Define Projects/Program approach and Stakeholder buy-in in alignment with Strategic Decisions

  • Provide Program Leadership at Global and Regional scale

  • Lead and direct numerous concurrent project teams

  • Create, review, evaluate Project/Program plans and objectives

  • Track and Report progress relative to time, budget, and demonstrated results across initiatives vs strategy

  • Negotiate with clients, colleagues and outside vendors

  • Communicate project status, milestones and issues to Project Sponsors and Senior Leadership

  • Apply effective project management methodologies and control techniques

  • Work independently and with Project Leads to ensure milestones are completed on time and on budget

Ongoing Systems & Service Delivery and Process Improvement

  • Lead Global IT processes delivery in responsibility areas, establish and maintain organizational quality indicators and ensure monitoring to client satisfaction

  • Provide information to BT and Business Leadership regarding best practices, industry trends and business opportunities, as well as, feedback on the overall performance of processes and tools

  • Identify and Lead efforts to ensure system performance is within optimal response times to ensure critical business processes are not impacted and continue being Industry Best in Class

  • Understand key business controls and impacts of changes caused by functionality, technology changes and changing business needs

  • Provide leadership for global and regional technology, support and services

  • Deliver solutions leveraging BTAMS and BTI Managed Service models in alignment with Strategic Objectives for the Company

  • Manage Vendors and Drive Partnership Improving Overall Delivery Efficiency in terms of Quality and Cost

  • Partner with Business counterparts to ensure GMP and other compliance requirements are met

  • Steward the development and implementation of process capabilities (process, tools and roles) & metrics

  • Identify, advocate and execute process improvements (continuous improvement) across systems, financial effectiveness and teams ability to deliver

  • Monitor process compliance and performance metrics

Manage resources:

  • Contract FTEs (6-12 Contingent Workers)

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance or Computer Science or an affiliated field required

  • Masters or MBA preferred

Experience:

  • 5-7 years management experience leading teams, developing strategies, execution of programs/projects, and 5+ years engaging/guiding clients at executive levels

  • 10+ years technology experience, including Business Technology as well as Operational Technology areas including technology selection, configuration, architecture and service delivery

  • In depth understanding of the end-to-end Pfizer Global Supply Processes as well as Technical and Architecture practices

  • Outstanding track record delivering complex programs within budget, time, scope, quality

  • Demonstrated experience of various BT practices, including but not limited to, project management, operational service delivery, large project implementations

  • Experience with legal contracts, financial analyses, and a track record of delivering cost savings

  • Demonstrated ability to work and lead across organizational regional and global boundaries, ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross-divisional and cross-functional environment

  • Ability to work independently, effectively coordinating multiple priorities in a dynamic and changing environment and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, in some cases under extreme duress

Non-Standard Work Requirements
