Pfizer Scientist (non in Pearl River, New York
We are seeking a highly motivated non-PhD level scientist with a strong background in oncology and/or immunology for a Scientist position within the Oncology Therapeutics Discovery Group. This group contributes to the identification and validation of novel Oncology targets to fuel the drug discovery pipeline.
Participate in immuno-oncology target validation efforts
Design and execute studies to investigate target biology, dissect potential mechanism of action, and elucidate immune response.
Prepare and analyze tissue samples for immune modulation by multi-color flow-cytometry and Luminex /ELISA-based assays.
Analyze and interpret data, troubleshoot results independently or with minimal supervision.
Present data and communicate research results among the team, record experimental protocols and results in an accurate and timely manner.
Attend team meetings and deliver well-prepared presentations. Participate actively in team/group discussions.
Bachelor's degree in Biology or related subjects with 6 plus years' laboratory experience in an industrial or academic setting; preferentially master's degree in cell biology or related field with at least 5 years' experience in an industrial or academic setting
Track record of successful contribution to research projects leading to advancement of projects
Proven ability to deliver consistent, reproducible, scientifically rigorous results.
Significant experiences with an standard molecular, cell biology, and immunology methods
Extensive cell culture expertise with both primary and immortalized cells. Experience with genetically modifying and engineering cell lines (by siRNA, CRISPR/Cas9 and lentiviral infections), 2D and 3D proliferation assays (Incucyte, Celigo, soft agar, Matrigel), cell death assays.
Immunology techniques such as PBMC and T cell isolation from blood/spleen/tumors, T cell activation, cytokine ELISA, ELIspot, Luminex. Proficiency in multi-color flow-cytometry, panel design and downstream data analysis.
Standard cell and molecular biology techniques such as western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, microscopy, ELISA.
Proficiency with standard office and scientific software (Powerpoint, Excel, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo).
Strong ability to work independently, efficiently and productively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative and diverse team environment. Excellent organization and planning skills, high standards, motivated with a strong work ethic. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English.
