Primary Duties

Medical Strategy

  • Contributes to the development of a strategic MDSCA guidance in the respective Specialty therapeutic area to ensure that the commercial objectives of the brand are realized, product licenses are obtained and maintained

  • Develops and supports the alignment of this area-specific strategic MDSCA guidance with local. Regional and global Medical/SA Strategy

  • Supports the development and implementation of programs to generate data which are of strategic importance to the respective Vaccines therapeutic area

  • Supports the timely, comprehensive and scientifically accurate dissemination of data from Pfizer sponsored studies and other sources in order to provide up-to-date information to the scientific community, to health care providers, reimbursement decision making bodies, and other external stakeholders

  • Supports the local execution of the MDSCA strategy in cooperation with above-country brand management, in-country medical functions and other cross-functional team members

  • Provides input & support to European brand management for the definition and execution of marketing strategies

  • Ensures the adherence to the highest legal, regulatory, transparency and other ethical standards Page

  • Develops relationships with key European clinical thought leaders and other stakeholders in order to ensure that medical/SA strategies meet customer needs and to establish and reinforce partnerships in clinical programs

  • Manages MDSCA Managers and the appropriate allocation of resources for the MDSCA Plan implementation and objectives achievements.

Required Experience, Training, & Education:

  • Medical or Scientific degree

  • Extensive body of knowledge and experience in the vaccines area, particularly in infectious diseases and in infectious disease epidemiology

  • Demonstrated track record of high performance in an international medical role field preferred

  • Knowledge of the relevant European and additional international health environments (Russia, Asia, ...) including their structure, policy, key members and scientific societies

  • Significant business management experience in a Medical role

  • Well-organized with the ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands and effectively lead in a matrix organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Strong ability to facilitate open discussion and debate among key stakeholders and to build internal and external relationships

  • Profound knowledge of the relevant and applicable Codes of Practice, SOPs, regulations and guidelines across Europe

  • Profound knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory legislation and how it impacts the product portfolio

  • Experience in protocol design and execution

  • Advanced ability to analyze, define and convey complex concepts and strategies in verbal and written communication to very demanding internal and external audiences

  • Proven ability to function effectively in a complex, changing environment, and the professional maturity to deal with ambiguity and lead others through influence

Preferred Experience, Training, & Education:

  • Demonstrated project management, organizational excellence

  • Advanced IT user of relevant Microsoft and communication software

  • Must have the ability to work autonomously, demonstrate proactivity and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
