Pfizer Buyer Planner Scheduler in Rocky Mount, North Carolina

ROLE SUMMARY

The Buyer/Planner/Scheduler maintains inventories and schedules to support plant operation activities and financial goals. This role is responsible for the process of placing orders for assigned items, prioritizing deliveries, material testing and release, to align with manufacturing demands and schedules.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generates and places purchase orders, expedite deliveries and approvals of materials and paperwork through various plant departments, i.e. Incoming Materials, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Manufacturing, and Documentation.

  • Maintains inventory accuracy to assure proper materials are available to support production activities.

  • Resolves problems in manufacturing, with vendor deliveries and quality of materials under minimal supervision and interacts with all levels of management.

  • Adheres to all SOP's, cGMP's, and plant safety, quality and documentation systems requirements as well as assigned special projects or other tasks by management.

  • Ensure uninterrupted flow of materials and services.

  • Manages the purchasing cycle, including generating requisitions, creating POs, follow up on POs , reception of goods and final payment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management with no experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in another discipline with 1 year of experience in purchasing, manufacturing, manufacturing planning or production control.

  • Associate's degree with 3 years of experience in purchasing, manufacturing, manufacturing planning or production control.

  • If no degree, must have 5 years of experience in purchasing, manufacturing, manufacturing planning or production control.

  • Strong computer skills are required, to include the various Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word) and Microsoft Outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience utilizing materials requirements planning (MRP) tools, or experience in manufacturing line scheduling preferred.

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical setting preferred.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated strong verbal/written communication and leadership skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management.

  • Ability to perform complex mathematical and analytical calculations.

  • Effectively conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems with minimal guidance in a fast moving, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
