Pfizer QA DMS Supervisor in Rocky Mount, North Carolina

The primary function of the QA DMS Supervisor is to develop, implement, and/or maintain a Document Management System (DMS) and business procedures leveraging the repository for SOPs, Validation documents, white papers, and others, as determined. The position assists in development and execution of validation protocols for implementing new functionality of the DMS application, assures compliant operating procedure life cycle management, and develops and coordinates training for the system and associated updates. This position is responsible for the Documentation Control group's administration functions for the utilization of the DMS PDOCS repository for the Rocky Mount site.nd develops and coordinates training for the system and associated updates.   • Oversees Documentation Control and other key administration functions of the DMS repository including the establishment of new processes leveraging the new repository to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in configuration of the DMS environment including object definition, folder organization, access management and business rule development and their application.

  • Assist in development of validation protocols for DMS implementation and validation along with supporting the development and coordination of training programs for new document types and their associated business processes.

  • Coordinates change control within the repository.

  • Manages the lifecycle of SOPs, controlled forms, templates, and other procedures in the site DMS system.

  • Supervise and direct available site SOP authoring and site implementation in the system.

  • Promote consistency in the execution of changes throughout Rocky Mount.

  • Drive continuous improvement for DMS through representation in the DMS POC forum.

  • Lead or participate in other projects, as needed


  • Bachelors Degree required.

  • 5 Yrs Experience in Document Management and Control.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of Formatting Governance

  • Template and macro development

  • Familiar with Information Mapping

  • Familiar with Computer Software Validation Concepts.

  • Understanding of Web Application.

  • Project Planning experience preferred.

  • Lean or Six Sigma Experience preferred

  • Business Process Mapping

  • Value Stream Analysis

  • Experience developing training programs preferred.

  • 0-3 years supervisory experience required.

  • Involved with development, implementation and usage of Document Management Systems (DMS) in pharmaceutical environment - Familiarity with cGMP implementations leveraging Alfresco, SAP DMS and/or PLM would be desirable.

  • Development of business processes related to DMS and Regulated cGMP documentation needs.

  • Development of validation documentation and execution of the same.

  • Development of standard operating procedures to support new business processes.
