Pfizer Business Finance Analyst in Sandton, South Africa
The analyst is accountable to provide analytical decision support for internal customers (both local and HQ). It includes the coordination/ lead of the advanced planning, reporting and analysis process and provision of high quality financial information to contribute to the successful achievement of business and operating plans whilst adhering to policy guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Partnering with business finance, commercial departments and all groups in providing value added analytical analysis used in driving complete and informed decision making
Prepare and validate the monthly financial statements. Ensure data integrity of the P&L and balance sheet information and follow up on differences/variances to budget/expectations
Support and facilitate management decision-making through the provision of financial analysis, support and advice
Ensures that the monthly cost centre reports are available on time, are accurate and complete and works with the business management to interpret them
Ensure compliance to regulatory, organisational and audit requirements
Prepare monthly management reports and analysis which includes business P&L's with actual vs budget vs prior year vs forecast, sales analysis in total and at product level, cost of sales analysis and expenses analysis
Manage and report all product inventories to ensure that we adhere to Inventory Policies and Procedures and that Inventory is correctly stated and accounted for
Coordinate the budget and forecast preparation of the relevant business unit by providing the necessary tools and reviewing the plans to ensure that they meet the stated company revenue and profit targets and that they are produced within the stated timeframes
Responsible and accountable for the development and maintenance of a finance centre of expertise for routine finance matters (e.g. overheads, processes, cost centre set up, ASL's, transfers, etc.)
The development and maintenance of a management accounting system and maintenance of financial reporting systems
Leading the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
Provides ad hoc periodic reporting
- Significant interaction with FD, marketing and sales departments (Commercial Team)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
B.Comm (Accounting/ Finance/ Economics/ Business or Analytical emphasis)
2-3 years management accounting/ finance experience preferably in the Pharmaceutical industry or manufacturing industry
Qualifications (CIMA, CA, CPA, ACCA, etc) an added advantage
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Advanced computer literacy, knowledge of SUN system an added advantage
Working knowledge of standard financial accounting software/ ERP
Strong MS Office skills
Analytical skills and good background on data analysis
Strong numerical and accounting/ finance skills
Management accounting/ inventory accounting/ cost accounting/ manufacturing accounting - added advantage
