Pfizer Cancer Immunology Discovery (CID) is a South San Francisco biotechnology unit within the Oncology division of Pfizer Worldwide Research & Development, dedicated to doing its part to fulfill Pfizer's mission of working together for a healthier world. The Protein Engineering Department is seeking an outstanding scientist to aid in antibody discovery and technology development projects. They will be responsible for working closely with individuals in both protein engineering and biology to develop the next generation of antibody based cancer therapeutics. They will have access to state of the art antibody generation technologies and will be expected to continue our tradition of developing world class methods and technologies that enhance our therapeutic antibody discovery efforts.
This position will be part of the Hybridoma group at Protein Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be involved in the generation and characterization of monoclonal antibodies to be used as protein therapeutics. Skills necessary would include tissue culture, in vivo work, binding assays and molecular biology. This position will perform immunizations, cells fusion, sample assays by ELISA and FACS, cell banking, sequencing, cloning, engineering, small scale antibody production and data analysis.
BS, MS or PhD in Molecular/Cell biology/Immunology or related field with 12+ (BS), 10+ (MS), or 3+ (PhD) years' industry experience or combined post-doctoral training.
Must have prior hands-on experience in antibody discovery via hybridoma, phage display or B-cell approach.
Knowledge of new methods to improve antibody discovery and understanding of immunology.
Strong track record of success demonstrated through publications and/or patent applications.
Good record keeping and communication skills are essential and being able to multitask in the lab is important.
Good time management skills are mandatory as well as the ability to coordinate with other staffs within the group/team.
- Experience in high throughput (HTP) B cells sequencing and HTP reformatting/expressing of antibodies are a definite plus.
