Department Overview

The Oncology Business Unit is a hyperdynamic environment with a growing portfolio of medicines that treat breast, lung, renal and haematological cancers. The medical affairs team are an integral group and work alongside colleagues from a breadth of specialties, including commercial, government affairs, health & value, regulatory, patient experience, communications and compliance.

What can I achieve and what will I be responsible for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?

During your year you will gain insight into the pharmaceutical industry and meet experts working in a wide range of roles and departments. There will be opportunities to work with other teams and develop an understanding of the different career opportunities industry has to offer.

You will acquire knowledge of oncology, drug development, the healthcare environment and gain insights into the different stages of a drug's lifecycle. You will be mentored by your allocated medical affairs colleague and become a valued member of the team, helping to deliver key medical projects. You will improve your communication and presentation skills and ability to function within a team work environment. In addition, through your own project work, you will gain leadership and project management skills.

When can I start?

Placements will start on 2nd September 2019 and will run for 12 months.
