Senior Medical Manager Inflammation & Immunology Lead Austria and Switzerland (m/f)

Location: Switzerland or Austria

This is what you can look forward to:

Regional role:

  • Leadership of the country I&I medical affairs team in Austria and Switzerland

  • Accountability for Medical Plans and deliverables for I&I in this region aligned with key strategies, deliverables and communication in the region

  • Management of I&I medical resources and budget in this region

  • Identification and execution of regional opportunities for growth and improved efficiencies through best practices and other initiatives within the region

  • Medical Leadership in the hub to build a cohesive regional medical community

  • Provision of regional medical support to regulatory issues, product labeling, product maintenance and defense, medical information, drug safety, outcomes research and other related functions in the medical department as appropriate

  • Develop and maintain ongoing cross-functional working relationships with Pfizer colleagues within the in-country, regional organization

  • People management and development of the direct reports

Country role:

  • Build enduring peer-to-peer relationships with leading healthcare professionals and specialists, including non-traditional customers and key decision makers

  • Acquire and maintain in-depth scientific knowledge of Pfizer medicines within nominated therapy area(s) and deliver medical and scientific activities within the medical plan

  • Collaborate with clinical research colleagues and above-country and global BU colleagues to provide medical input and to drive timely completion of Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials

  • To ensure customer intelligence is brought into the organization to generate customer insights, shape future strategy and leverage business opportunities

What you offer:

  • An MD degree and/or patient care experience is strongly preferred

  • Experience of direct management of in-country medical operations preferred

  • Thorough understanding of the health care environment in the region

  • In-depth knowledge of the therapeutic area, the relevant medicines in the portfolio and the pipeline

  • Understanding of the compliance framework for medical interactions in relation to the applicable regulations, Code of Practice and SOPs

  • A good understanding of clinical research and the ability to critically evaluate clinical study protocols, reports and publications

  • Strong presentation, negotiation and networking skills

  • High degree of cross-functional collaboration

  • Ability to communicate clearly information and concepts which may be complex in nature

  • Role modeling, upholding values, adhering to high standards

  • Good knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory legislation and how it impacts the product portfolio

  • Good knowledge of drug development

  • A knowledge of health economics and its impact on medical decision making

  • Fluent in German and English is a must, French a plus
